1. Definition: Synthetic protein foods

Artificial meat includes two categories: one is artificial meat prepared from plant protein (referred to as: plant-based artificial meat). This type of product is also called because it can simulate the appearance and taste of real meat to the greatest extent possible. It can be used as plant meat, vegetarian meat, simulated meat, etc.; the other type of artificial meat is prepared from cells (referred to as: cell-based artificial meat). This type of product can bypass animal feeding and provide human beings with real animal protein. It is called cultured meat, cultivated meat, in vitro synthetic meat, clean meat, etc.

 

2. Industrial chain analysis: simple raw materials and complex production processes

At present, the industrial chain of artificial meat industry starts from two different product forms. One is plant-based artificial meat, which produces high-quality vegetable protein through the processing of soybeans, peas and other crops, and then synthesizes plant-based artificial meat; the other is plant-based artificial meat. Totipotent stem cells, muscle cells, etc. are extracted from pigs, cattle and other animals for cultivation, and then animal-based artificial meat is synthesized. The downstream of both are restaurants, supermarkets, online shopping platforms, etc.

Since the development of animal-based artificial meat is still in the laboratory research and development stage, the current mainstream artificial meat is mainly plant-based artificial meat.
